Comments: This was the very first comic I ever drew for Atavism. I knew the whole "starting the story by waking up" convention is pretty hackneyed, but I kept it in the final version anyway.
I've never really read any manga, so here I was being affected by webcomics with manga influences. A manga influence once or twice removed, you might say.
At this stage I was still using a permanent marker to fill in the areas of solid black, contrary to my current practice of simply utilising the GIMP's bucket-fill tool. I gave up on the marker partly because the fumes were making me think there were demons in my head, but mostly because I'm lazy.
